We heard that managers are busy and that it can be tricky for them to keep up-to-date with their teams’ recognition moments and remember work anniversaries and birthdays. So to give managers a helping hand, we have added proactive managers’ alerts as a brand new recognition feature!

There are four new alerts that all line managers can choose to receive via your engagement platform:

1. When their direct report receives an eCard, InstantAward™ or an approved award nomination. The alert will take them straight to the recognition story so they can read the recognition and add a comment if they wish to extend the celebrations!
2. When it is a direct report’s work anniversary, the alert will even tell them which year anniversary it is. The alert will direct them to make it easy for them to ‘Send an eCard’ to wish their report a happy work anniversary.
3. When it is a direct report’s birthday. The alert will only get sent if the employee has made their birthday visible in their profile. The alert will take the manager to ‘Send an eCard’ to wish them a happy birthday!
4. Weekly reminders to send recognition, to help managers remember to send recognition if they have not already done so that week.

These new alerts are designed to help make busy managers’ lives easier, and to help them nurture a culture of continuous recognition in your organisation. By recognising their people regularly and in a timely way, as well as celebrating their milestones, they can tap into a really important driver of employee motivation and engagement.

Can managers turn them off?
Yes, managers are in full control of their own alert preferences. This can be accessed at any time from the alert center on your site.

How to enable the new manager alerts
To enable the new manager alerts to work on your platform, we need up-to-date ManagerID data and Work anniversary data for each employee. Please speak to your Client Success Manager to check we have recent, complete data from you for this.
