Overturned the 1896 ruling of Plessy v. Ferguson. In 1954, the Supreme Court made a landmark decision which ruled that racial segregation in schools is unconstitutional. While an enormous decision, the Supreme Court failed to lay out implementation, which led to some states ignoring the ruling.
