Julius Caesar, before becoming a dictator, was a general of the army and a great governor. He had forged an alliance with Pompey who was a really powerful being and he had also forged an alliance with Crassus, a wealthy patrician. He was now so powerful that he would become emperor of Rome. But he did not seek power like other politicians, and he was a great emperor. He would provide land for the poor and he would boost the economy by a lot. People loved him. When he was assassinated his rule would be remembered forever and many protesters would be against the republic. So therefore the 1st emperor was selected and Rome had converted into an empire.
