- In Grenoble the Parlement of Dauphine declared the laws, shattering parlements power, was illegal,
- The Parlement felt they had support from the urban workers
- On the 30th May 2 regiments were sent to disband the parlement in Grenoble
- Crowds gathered to shut the city gates when the arm arrived
- Many protestors started throwing tiles from their roofs at the soldiers
