6 mar 1857 año - Dred Scott vs. Sanford
Descripción:
The Dred Scott vs Sanford decision was when the Supreme Court rules that African Americans, free or not, could not sue in federal court and were not recognized as citizens. They also ruled that Congress did not have the power to ban slavery within parts of the US. This caused sectionalism because slave owners would not want citizens to gain citizenship or have any rights, while in the North they would promote for slave rights. This combined led to more tension overall.
