Descripción:

A major party who wanted to extend period of naturalization, undercut immigrant voting strengths, and keep aliens in their place (keep power out of the hands of immigrants and Roman Catholics). This party spread sectionalism not through slavery, but by dividing opinions and basically attacking the rights of immigrants being less than those born in America.
