3,500 United States Marines went ashore in South Vietnam on March 8th. They joined the 25,000 US military advisers who were already in Vietnam. South Vietnam was not consulted before this troop movement. This is important because it is the beginning of the Living Room War which would change so much of American Society.Añadido al timeline:
