Descripción:

Leibniz is a German logician, mathematician and natural philosopher of the Enlightenment. an inventor, engineer, and applied scientist. Leibniz may have been the first computer scientist and information theorist. He became one of the most prolific inventors in the field of mechanical calculators. While working on adding automatic multiplication and division to Pascal's calculator, he was the first to describe a pinwheel calculator in 1685 and invented the Leibniz wheel, used in the arithmometer, the first mass-produced mechanical calculator. He also refined the binary number system, which is the foundation of all digital computers. Basically, he was way ahead of his time and thought of a lot of things that ended up being used in modern computers. In 1671, Leibniz began to invent the machine that could execute all four arithmetic operations, gradually improving it over a number of years, his election to the Royal Society in 1673. In 1679, while mulling over his binary arithmetic, Leibniz imagined a machine in which binary numbers were represented by marbles, governed by a rudimentary sort of punched cards.
