Herman Hollerith was an American inventor who developed an electro mechanical punched card tabulator to assist in summarizing information and, later, accounting, and make the job much easier and organized. He was born on February 29, 1860 in Buffalo, New York. Herman Hollerith made a major contribution to the invention of the modern digital computer with his punched card tabulating machine, invented in 1890. His Invention became the foundation of a company that evolved into InternationalBusiness Machines (IBM). He had a huge impact today because due to him, the modern digital computer was created. His punch card system invention was called the Tabulating machine, and it was invented on 1890. Hollerith died on November 17th, 1929 in Washington D.C.
