The radio evolved into a steadfast means of communication for pilots, truck drivers, emergency services and many more. It later developed into a vibrant addition to households and, during World War II, when radio became an invaluable means of communicating breaking developments on the warfront, people around the world would sit beside their home radios and await the news with bated breath.
