1 ene 1993 año - Family and Medical Leave Act

Descripción:

The Family and Medical Leave Act, originally vetoed twice by George H.W. Bush, was passed by Bill Clinton. The Act provides eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave without the risk of being fired. Eligible employees are those who are giving birth, taking care of a newborn, taking care of a spouse, child, or parent because of serious health conditions, and those unable to work because of serious health condition. This allowed many women to keep their jobs after having a baby. This also prohibited discrimination against pregnant women. Women no longer had to make a choice between family and work. Women's roles in society were expanding.
