- Day 585
- Rick tells Carl that they're not supposed to use the electricity because they're using a lot of it on heaters and daylight is still pretty low. Carl reluctantly turns off his lamp. Rick asks him how his eye is after Dr. Cloyd cleaned it. He says it hurt a little but he doesn't want to call it an eye because it's just a hole. Rick tells him not to get short with him but Carl tells him that he has no idea what it's like to look in the mirror and think he's gross or how hard it is to read. Rick apologises.
- Meanwhile outside, an armed stranger watches the safe-zone from afar.
- Carl wakes up in the middle of the night after having a bad dream about killing another boy (see day 410). He said it felt incredibly real. Rick doesn't get back to sleep after this.
