Oct. 2, 1835. This was the first battle of the texas revolution. The people of Gonzolez had gotten a cannon from the Mexicans and when they came to get it they hid it from the Mexicans. When General Ugartechea heard this he sent troops to go get it. When the Mexican troops got there they found the Guadalupe River had flooded and it was impossible to get across the texas hearing of the Mexicans on the other side got the cannon and started to shoot and over them, they flew the come and take it flag. No Texans were harmed and the Mexicans were scared off.
