Syerra Benavidez and Justin Barela, both 21, were fatally shot by a man who claims they were trying to rob him. The unidentified man told police he feared for his life, and retrieved a gun he had in his vehicle. He reportedly shot Barela first, then Benavidez. No one was charged in the case.
