Descripción:

The March on Washtington was a peaceful protest organized by MLK Jr. and the Kennedy Adminstration in Washington D.C at the Lincoln Memorial. MLK Jr. worked with President Kennedy's brother, Robert, to organize the event and also execute it. At the March, Martin luther King Jr. delievered his infamous "I Have a Dream Speech," which inspired many people, not just African Americans, to join in the civil fight for civil rights. A major cause of this event would be the Birmingham Protests just months prior. That success allowed the SCLC to have the motivation to keep fighting for what they believed was right. A major effect of this event was that it inspired many people the join the movement.
