21 agos 1858 año - Lincoln - Douglas Debates

Descripción:

A series of debates where the candidates Lincoln and Douglas argued about extending slavery into new states and territories (popular sovereignty, the Lecompton Constitution, and the Dred Scott decision). Douglas won the debates, but Lincoln's position in these debates allowed him to win the 1860 presidential election. The debates increased sectionalism by increasing the division of the people over slavery.
