The House of Commons declared June to be National Indigenous History Month, a month where Canadians celebrate and learn about the contributions Indigenous people made to the development of Canada. This event could be interpreted as being in support of the myth as some people could see it as being a symbol of the 'good' relationship Canadians have with Indigenous people.
