(The Exploration of Cosmic Space by Means of Reaction Devices), written by Konstantin Tsiolkovsky proved that physical space exploration was possible. Konstantin further develops the Rocket Equation, and publishes it. It is still used today. He is widely considered to be a pioneer of the astronautic theory.
