In these courts, the judges had to swear an oath of loyalty to Hitler. The number of crimes punishable by death rose from 3 to 46 at the end of the Nazi regime. These included "crimes" such as listening to foreign radio.
The entire legal system was in Hitler's control, the police were under the command of the SS.
