After Raza catches on that Stark and Yinsen might not be working on the Jericho Missile as they had promised, he pays them a visit and moves the deadline that the Jericho must be built by to the next day, forcing Stark and Yinsen to work harder to finish the suit in that time.

When the day comes, they finish the suit, but before Stark can use it, it must be charged. As they're charging the suit, Raza's men see it and go to investigate, but Stark and Yinsen have set a booby trap by the door that blows when they try to open it, alerting the rest of the terrorists of what's going on.

Yinsen realizes they don't have enough time to power the suit, so he takes a gun and fends off their attackers as it finishes powering up. When it finishes, Stark ambushes the terrorists and kills most of them as he makes his way out of the cave, only to find Yinsen mortally wounded, having been shot. Stark fends off a rocket fired by Raza, sending it back to Raza and severely burning the man's face.

Stark stays with Yinsen as the man dies. Afterward, he goes outside and fends off the rest of the terrorists. He destroys the terrorists' stockpile of Stark Industries weapons, causing a massive explosion that he barely escapes. He crash lands several miles away and gets away with only a broken arm.

After hours of traversing the desert, he's eventually rescued by the Air Force, including his friend Rhodey, and is taken back to the States.
