In his writing, Rousseau argues that science and the arts have corrupted society by ruining human morality. He also believed that people should be controlled by a government but also active within it, which would reduce the involvement of special interest groups. This influenced the Constitution by showing the ideas and importance of active citizen participation in goverment.
