On the morning of September 6, 1930, in the area of ​​Chunkur-Kul, a detachment of OGPU had a battle with a detachment of rebels numbering about 1,000 horsemen. The Sarbaz led an intensive offensive, but were forced to retreat. In the evening of the same day, the rebels tried to attack the government units again, but were thrown back by fire in the Shakhta-Kupyr tract. In the first battle, the sarbaza lost 40 killed, 14 wounded and 7 prisoners; in the second battle - 6 killed and 1 prisoner. Losses of the OGPU - one wounded soldier. 17 horses, 4 hunting rifles, a revolver captured.
