Was a joint invasion of Poland by Germany and the Soviet Union. Germany had broken the Munich Pact between it and the other European powers. German forces had attacked Poland from the north, south, and west in a combat style known as blitzkrieg (lightning war). The use of tanks, planes, motorized vehicles, and infantry made the invasion more effective. This signaled the start of WW2.
