11 nov 2018 año - Govinda and the River
Descripción:
Having been finally been enlightened and finding himself, Siddhartha now resides again by the river. Govinda goes to the river where he asks Siddhartha for advice. He then soon realizes he is talking to Siddhartha and is amazed by his findings. Siddhartha does his best to give him advice but tells him wisdom cannot be taught. He then tells Govinda to kiss him on the forehead where Govinda then sees similar images to what Siddhartha saw when meditating by the river. As a result, both Govinda and Siddhartha are both enlightened.
Character Relationships: In this passage, Govinda first doesn't recognize that he is talking to the same Siddhartha that he meditated with whether to follow the Samanas earlier in the book. You can feel the connection once Govinda realizes who he is and how Siddhartha felt when he asked him for his advice.
Themes, symbols, and motifs: In this section, I believe it is fitting that both Siddhartha and Govinda both achieved enlightenment together all this time later. I found it ironic that after so long and after how each one had been through so much, both achieved enlightenment together after they had both decided their first step to achieve enlightenment together although they had split different paths. Years later, here they are both finding themselves by the enchanted river.
