7 jul 2018 año - The Ferryman
Descripción:
Siddhartha becomes enchanted with the river and sees it as a major stepping stone to achieving enlightenment. The ferryman then takes Siddhartha under his wing and begins to teach Siddhartha how to live and successfully achieve enlightenment. Siddhartha also begins to learn from the river, as it also helps Siddhartha achieve his goal of enlightenment. He then suddenly realizes that the river is teaching him that everything in life, including time, is merely an illusion. Meanwhile, when Kamala decides to go find Gotama, she is bitten by a snake and the falls very ill. The ferryman finds her and brings her to the river where Siddhartha receives their son while Kamala dies in his arms.
Character Relationships: The ferryman decides to take Siddhartha under his wing and essentially train him as his apprentice. They both work together to help achieve Siddhartha's goal of reaching enlightenment. He even brings his dying partner to Siddhartha in order for him to recieve his son.
Themes, Symbols, and Motifs: An interesting symbol represented in this portion of the book can be how the person helping Siddhartha achieve enlightenment is named the ferryman. This is ironic because a ferryman operates a ferry and he is actually operating how Siddhartha controls his life and how he could achieve enlightenment.
