The Homestead Strike began when Henry Frick, the manager of the steel plant in Homestead, Pennsylvania, tried break the Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers (AA), the prevalent union in the plant, so they could reduce wages more easily. The union represented iron and steel worker. Eventually the union was broken.
