1 ene 1824 año - Pawtucket Textile Strike
Descripción:
Textile workers in Pawtucket, Rhode Island immediately went on strike when they learned that their work day had been lengthened by 1 hour and the wage of a power loom operator dropped 25%. This policy was for all mills in the city, and as a result, 500 workers walked off the job and went to their employers' homes to break windows and shot insults. One of the mills burned down completely. The owners agreed to a compromise with the workers. It was the first factory strike in American history. (Effect: workers in America began to protest against the rigid and often oppressive wage labor system) (Change: mass worker strikes in response to unfair treatment of employers became more common)
