The Dominion Elections Act was introduced by Robert Borden's Conservative government. It allowed advanced voting. Allowing who will be away from home during the day of the elections to vote. In 1960, the Conservative government allowed allowed all voters have access to advanced polling.

The Act succeeded, because of Nellie McClung's advocacy. It also allowed women to run for the Parliament of Canada. However, women from the minority groups weren't given this right.
