30 ene 1820 año - The Romantic Hero
Descripción:
The idea of Heroism reflects on the Romantic Era through literary texts that were written throughout the movement. Writers would commonly use a Romantic Hero as a protagonist to express the emotions they experience within the struggle to digest the constant changes throughout society. The hero tends to view him/herself as the center of life and does not sway against social norms. The Romantic Hero mirrors the values of a Romanticist, and the protagonist would tackle social issues like leadership or religion. Victor Frankenstein from the novel Frankenstein is a Romantic Hero who reflects Romantic ideals like innovation and freedom of thought. He could also be interpreted as a self-centered character who is mainly concerned about himself. Therefore, Victor is a perfect representation of a Romantic Hero. The character is used to challenge social norms and to provide a critique of the ideals that are present during the Romantic Era.
