After the incident with Lieutenant Kotler and Shmuel eating food, Bruno hasn't seen him in a while and when they meet he apologises for what happened and discloses the fact that he will be leaving Auschwitz and going back to berlin by the end of the week. Shmuel tells Bruno about his lost 'papa' and how he disappeared. They decide to meet one last time next day and they make plan that Shmuel will bring the striped suit that everyone o the other side wears so that Bruno can gon into the camp with Shmuel to finds his papa.
