1 oct 1935 año - Mussolini Invades Ethiopia

Descripción:

Also known as the Abyssinian Crisis, this was a conflict in which Mussolini invaded Ethiopia without warning, with intentions of full control over the nation. The League of Nations opposed this attack, and attempted to place economic sanctions on Italy. The sanctions never passed, Italy left the League of Nations, and after agreements with Britain and France was allowed to keep Ethiopia fully. This event marked a major failure of the League of Nations, as they proved unable to take any action on aggressive countries. It also moved Italy one step closer to a fascist alliance with Nazi Germany, and therefore its involvement in WWII.
