Allowed for reunification of Germany after its long division of Berlin, as well as dismantled of the “Iron Curtain”, the symbol of conflict between Western Europe and the Eastern Bloc. Jameson eludes to movement from the communist/modernist (utopian) era towards a late-capitalist/postmodern (dystopian) era, symbolized by the fall of the Wall.
