Over the course of the end of WWII Japan was given many chances to surrender but they didn't take any of them. The US may have been wrong in dropping the atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima but they didn't really have a choice. "Little Boy" and "Fat Man" may have killed thousands of people but it did get Americas point across of ending WWII and Japan surrendered on August 14.
