2 ene 1651 año - Navigation Acts

Descripción:

The Navigation Acts were a series of laws that Great Britain imposed on the colonies in order to restrict colonial trade and enforce the mercantilst policy. The first were passed in 1651, and more were added up until 1663. These laws prohibited the colonies from trading with any country or their colonies other than Britain in order to bring in more money to the mother country. The colonies despised these laws and began to protest British goods and their policy, which eventually led to Britain repealing the acts in 1849. Although the acts were repealed, the damage had been done, and the colonies were more distrustful of the British than ever, and that helped lead them to revolt.
