13 feb 1832 año - British Reform Bill
Descripción:
The British Reform Bill came after nearly a decade of push for greater representation in parliament for working class men. It expanded voting rights to nearly 50% of the adult male population and increased the districts represented to newly industrialized areas. Most importantly, this increased the power of the House of Commons and decreased the power of the aristocrat-heavy House of Lords. This paved the way for the “people’s charter” in 1838, but most importantly, it moved Britain in a more democratic and liberal direction in contrast to the rest of Europe.
