Japan forced Russia to abandon its expansionist policy in the Far East. Came up for dominance in Korea and Manchuria. The war began on February 8, 1904. We should care because if the Russians had won against the Japanese there communism would have spread more. It's important to the revolution because Tsar II could have gotten even more power and caused more pain to the citizens of Russia.
