The U.S. joined in the Spanish-American War to save the resources on Cuba and to get revenge for the sinking of the Maine. They led the Battle of San Juan (led by Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders) on July 1st, 1898 and the war ended on December 10th, 1898 when the Treaty of Paris was signed.
