This month Luxembourg was freed from Nazi occupation, reestablishing its independence. Luxembourg was one of the first countries to be completely freed of Nazi occupation during World War II, largely as a result of its neighbor France being liberated only a few weeks prior. It has enjoyed peace ever since, and is one of the most prosperous nations in the world despite its small size.
