Descripción:

The Ottomans managed to take Constantinople becuase they sealed off the Bosporus river, cutting off trade, reinforcements etc. The other factor that made the Ottomans successful was the fact that Mehemed the COnqueror made the siege a holy cause which bolstered the numbers of his army.
