Eighteenth Amendment- January 16, 1919This amendment is the only amendment to be repealed from the Constitution by the U.S. government. The amendment was the prohibition of the sale and drinking of alcohol in the United States. It took into effect in 1919, but was a major failure, with huge backfire.
