Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States. He gained fame from being the general of the United States Army previous to his term as president. He was the first democratic president of the United States. During his presidency, he resolved the nullification crisis, increased trade substantially, reduced corruption in government, signed the Indian Removal Act, and authorized the US exploring expedition.
