The attacks on the World Trade Center occurred on September 11th, 2001. These attacks were caused by a terrorist organization known as al Qaeda that operated out of Afghanistan. The attacks caused what is known as the War on Terror, sparked in order to root out terrorism from different parts of the world. Ever since these attacks, America has not taken any risks regarding security, subsequently creating the PATRIOT Act and invading multiple countries in the middle east.Citation: Schultz, Kevin M.
