The Atari Jaguar was the last Atari console to use physical media (as of 2018), was very hard to develop for. The Jaguar also had underwhelming sales which contributed to the lack of third-party support. This led to a game library of only 50 licensed game titles on the system. In 1995 with the release of the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation sales continued to fall, selling no more than 250k units before be discontinued in 1996. This failure prompted Atari to leave the video game console market and then be bought by Hasbro Interactive.
