Murat Rais was appointed the Saptain of the Sea in 1574 by the Bey of Algiers. In 1578 captured the Spanish Viceroy of Sicily, and Phillip II sense an attack on them. He continues to raid the Spanish coast line for another 10 years and is the most notorious corsair in the Mediterranean after the death of Hizir. He was Christian and converted to Islan, and was appointed the Saltine's admiral in 1594. He commanded all forces until his death in 1609.
