Christopher Columbus was sent on an expedition by the Spanish Monarchs. Although his goal was to find a Route to Asia he accidentally ended up in America in October of 1492. He is given credit for discovering the new world but he was not the first to get there. He did however establish the permanent presence of Europeans in the Americas.Añadido al timeline:
