Around 38 years after the war of 1812 America saw an influx of immigrants. Nativist condemned immigration and preached Protestant religion and culture. They feared that immigrants would take their jobs. They created anti-immigration art and anti-immigration literature. Boston was an immigrant hotspot as immigrants flooded into America. Some Nativist got violent in their outrage at immigration. Catholic churches and schools were burned down. To the protestant the Catholic church was a foreign church.
