Salutary Neglect was a British policy that occurred in the early to mid 18th century. The policies and law were put into were not reinforced and were not strict. During this time period the British mainly left the colonies to themselves. This policy was broken shortly after the Seven Year War. After this policy was broken British settlers were deeply angered by British’s attempt to control them. The Americas were running and being very successful so the British left them to their own devices.
