This grapefruit was probably imported from somewhere in the U.S. like Florida or California. This grapefruit had to be trasnported many miles and probably changed hands many times (farmer to fruit company, fruit company to grocery store, grocery store to our family). Without globalization, we would had to have waited till it was warm enough to grow our own fruit in Canada, but with globalization, modern transportation can ensure we have fresh fruit from anywhere in the world all year round.
