With the combination of the First, Second, and Third Estates, the National Assembly was formed. It was intended to create fewer societal divisions of peoples within France and to promote the idea of governmental representation beyond their societal and financial status of the individual. And with such representation, monarchical power and influence had limitations placed upon it, with monarchs now having to answer to the will of the whole.
