The soldiers from both Britain and France attacked their posts by land, sea which caused them to get control of trading. During the war the York Factory was held under French control for 16 years which severely limited the supply of furs going to London. When the war ended in 1713, the Company’s trading posts are returned to Britain’s control as part of the Treaty of Utrecht. HBC regains undisputed possession of its posts on Hudson Bay.
